Nestled in the historic Silver Lake hills, this tranquil 50's home has been lovingly renovated into a modern escape with fantastic views and a sweeping backyard.


The original 1950s three-bedroom, two-bath home features a mix of vintage appliances and updated, hand-built modern touches. The three bedrooms all have their own closets. Enjoy morning coffee from the back balcony, or relax on the front porch under the smell of orange blossoms.

The entirely separate lower studio has been transformed into a stunning apartment. It has its own fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The living space opens up into a towering 12-foot-high indoor/outdoor room with sliding translucent doors. This one-of-a-kind room defines the california indoor-outdoor experience and earned it a feature in Sunset Magazine.

This home was featured in Barbara Bestor’s Bohemian Modern, the book that defined Silverlake architecture. Location is everything, the house is close to everything Silver Lake offers: good coffee, cool record shops, groceries, great restaurants, local gift shops, and more. (see our blog for more) We’ve lived in Silverlake since 1999.

This is our chance to have you enjoy the neighborhood we love so much! We find this home is perfect for a wide range of people, from a large family, to two couples, to grandparents and kids. We’ve left a number of toys in the space so kids can be entertained on holiday. The rear house has a large modern landscaped backyard with a large flat lawn with artificial grass. Parking on the exterior driveway & street parking are available.

About the Owner

Hi! We are Katie and Dylan Robertson, longtime Silverlake residents who want to share our home with you. We've lived in Silverlake Since 1999 when we fell in love with this eclectic and artistic neighborhood. We’ve seen the area grow and flourish. This house is a family affair. We have updated it over the years to keep the original charm but with modern touches. Our kids were raised here and played on the block with our neighbors and friends. With a background in the rental business dating back to 2000, we're veterans at hosting guests. Katie's expertise in property management ensures a smooth, professional experience. We're here to assist with any needs you might have during your stay. Outside of rentals, Dylan is engaged in documentary filmmaking and actively participates in the Fireflies cycling group, supporting City of Hope Cancer research. We believe in living a life filled with passion and purpose. Throughout your stay, we're on hand to answer any questions about the property or provide local recommendations. Our aim is to make your visit both comfortable and memorable.
